Tiffany & Co.'s Engulfing Pop-Up Experience at the U.S. Open Unveiled
In the world of sports, Tiffany & Co. has long been a symbol of prestige, crafting iconic trophies for major events such as the U.S. Open tennis tournament, Super Bowl, NBA Finals, PGA Tour, and even esports championships like the League of Legends World Championship.
This year, Tiffany & Co. expanded its sports trophy repertoire by producing the NBA Cup and MVP trophies for the NBA's annual In-Season Tournament. At the 2025 U.S. Open, the renowned jeweller unveiled an immersive pop-up experience, showcasing their iconic trophies alongside a unique HardWear tennis racket adorned with diamonds and a gold vermeil tennis ball with diamond seams.
Located in the Fountain Plaza at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, the pop-up ran from August 18 to September 7. The installation featured a giant Tiffany Blue tennis ball and the exclusive diamond-encrusted HardWear tennis racket, emphasising the blend of sport and high jewellery artistry.
The pop-up's AI experience offered a modern interactive element, connecting visitors to the sport and Tiffany's heritage. This cutting-edge technology allowed guests to digitally transform into tennis stars, blending Tiffany's traditional craftsmanship with the latest technology.
The U.S. Open trophies, crafted by Tiffany's hollowware workshop in Cumberland, Rhode Island since 1987, are classic sterling-silver cups, standing 18 inches tall and weighing nearly nine pounds each. Each masterpiece takes approximately six months and 66 hours of work to be completed.
Visitors to the pop-up had the opportunity to view the Men's and Women's Singles Championship trophies. There was also a possibility that they may walk away with a trophy, in the digital realm, at least.
The diamond-encrusted HardWear tennis racket, on display at the pop-up, is adorned with nearly 5 carats of diamonds and has a 24-karat gold vermeil tennis ball set with nearly 7 carats of diamonds along its seams.
Tiffany & Co.'s legacy as a symbol of prestige in sports through exquisite trophy design and innovative fan experiences continues to shine at the U.S. Open. The three-week pop-up served as a testament to the brand's commitment to combining tradition with modernity, creating unforgettable experiences for sports fans and jewellery enthusiasts alike.
