Euro 2024 Ticketing: A Primer for Fans
With the draw for the Euro 2024 tournament now complete, fans across Europe are eagerly awaiting the chance to secure tickets for the highly anticipated competition. Julian Nagelsmann, along with DFB sports director Rudi Völler, has begun planning the German team's run-up, and fans must act quickly if they want to be part of the event live at the stadium during the summer of 2024.
How to secure tickets for Germany's Euro 2024 games?
- DFB Ticket Distribution: Fans of German, Scottish, Hungarian, and Swiss teams are set to receive 10,000 tickets per match. The German Football Association (DFB) will distribute these tickets for German fans in three ways starting on Monday:
a. Fan Club Members: The largest share of tickets will go to members of the "Fan Club Nationalmannschaft."
b. New Fan Clubs: For the first time, other fan clubs can be formed and apply for tickets through these clubs.
c. Tournament Registration: Anyone who has registered for a tournament registration with the DFB by last Thursday can also use this to apply for tickets.
Remember, "first come, first served" is the name of the game, so speed and diligence are of the utmost importance. More information can be found at .
Additional ticket options
- UEFA Ticket Portal: UEFA is also opening its ticket portal. Fans can apply for tickets for all 51 matches, including the final on July 14 in Berlin. However, UEFA does not provide details on the availability of tickets for each match. Make sure to submit your application by December 12 at 2:00 PM to be in the running. Check out the full details at .
- Return Exchanges: Unlucky fans can still hope for returned or unused tickets offered through return exchanges. Last-minute bargains could also be on the table until the tournament begins.
What does Julian Nagelsmann have planned until Euro 2024?
- DFB Staff Planning: Planning has commenced for Nagelsmann, Völler, and the entire DFB staff. The disappointing tests against Turkey (2-3) and Austria (0-2) have led to drastic measures from the national coach.
- March Test Matches: The test matches in Lyon against France and, presumably, in Frankfurt against a yet-to-be-determined opponent are all but confirmed for March.
- Tournament Squad Announcement: A probable date for the official announcement of the tournament squad is mid-May, shortly before the Bundesliga final on May 18. The team roster must then be registered with UEFA by no later than June 7.
- Training Camp Location: The location for the training camp, which is expected to begin in the week after the DFB Cup final (May 25), is now in the final planning stages. Two options are being evaluated: Donaueschingen and a hotel near Weimar.
- Additional Test Matches: Europa League champions Eintracht Frankfurt is the likely opponent for one of the two test matches during the preparations. In doing so, they aim to provide the DFB stars with a compelling blueprint of their opponents' soccer culture.
A glimpse into the German team’s possible knockout journey
If Germany finishes first in their group, they will face the Group C runners-up in the round of 16. Potential opponents could be England, Denmark, Slovenia, or Serbia. The route from there leads via Stuttgart (July 5) and Munich (July 9) to the final in Berlin (July 14) .
