Thursday's Bernuy festivities in the Primera División were declared by referee Guzmán Mansilla as their announcer.

José Luis Guzmán Mansilla, a highly-regarded football referee from Jaén, has made a significant leap in his career this season, ascending to the elite level of refereeing in La Liga (Primera División). But his accomplishments extend beyond the sports field, as he has also served in municipal administration in the Toledo province.

Guzmán Mansilla, who will be the main announcer at the local Virgin of the Rosary festival in Bernuy, Toledo, from August 14 to 17, 2025, has a notable background in public service. Prior to his current position, he served as secretary of the town halls of Bernuy and Malpica in the Torrijos region. His connection to the festivities is symbolic, demonstrating the community's respect for his dedication and achievements in both public service and his refereeing career.

The mayor of Bernuy Town Hall, Rafael Machín Arroyo, and the former mayor of Malpica, Santiago Huertas, have publicly acknowledged Guzmán Mansilla for his "example of superation, brilliance, and courage" and for his "arduous work and commitment" during difficult times. They emphasized that his dedication not only involved his municipal duties but also his passion for football refereeing, which culminated in his rise to the top tier of Spanish football officiating in 2025.

The event, which takes place in Bernuy, a neighborhood of Malpica, in Toledo, is only accessible for subscribers. It will be held on Thursday at 11:30 PM, with Guzmán Mansilla delivering a speech. Access to this event requires registration.
