Revenue growth for Thuringian construction industry - Thuringia’s construction sector grows despite falling new contracts

Thuringia’s construction sector has seen mixed results in the first nine months of the year. While overall revenue grew by 4.2%, the total value of new news contracts dropped sharply. Some areas, like road and commercial building, performed well, but residential work faced a significant decline.

By the end of September, the region’s main construction sector generated around €1.8 billion in revenue. This marked a 4.2% rise compared to the same period last year. The increase came despite a 15.8% fall in the total value of new news secured.

The latest figures show a divided picture for Thuringia’s builders. Road and commercial work have boosted revenue, but fewer new news and a slump in housing projects signal ongoing challenges. Firms have maintained stable employment levels, though future demand remains uncertain.
