More ski lifts in Thuringia open - Thüringer Wald opens its winter wonderland with deep snow and endless activities

Winter sports are now in full swing across the Thüringer Wald. With snow depths reaching up to 40 centimetres, the region has opened its slopes, lifts, and trails for the season. Visitors can enjoy skiing, sledding, and hiking in the picturesque forest landscape.

The only official ski resort in the area, Inselsberg – Bad Tabarz, began operations on February 6 and will remain open until March 8, 2026. Alongside it, additional ski lifts at Großer Inselsberg and Altenfeld have also started running for winter enthusiasts.

For those seeking variety, the region offers 36 sledding runs and 47 winter hiking routes. Cross-country skiers will find over 730 groomed trails ready for exploration. The combination of fresh snow and well-maintained facilities ensures a wide range of activities for all ages.

The Thüringer Wald has transformed into a winter playground with deep snow and extensive facilities. From downhill skiing to scenic hikes, the region provides plenty of options for outdoor fun. The season's conditions and prepared trails are set to attract visitors throughout the coming weeks.
