Thüringer HC signs Egyptian Gomaa as new goalkeeper - Thüringer HC signs Egyptian star goalkeeper Maie Gomaa for new season

Thüringer HC has announced the signing of Egyptian goalkeeper Maie Gomaa for the upcoming season. The move comes as the club prepares to replace departing keeper Christina Lövgren Hallberg. Gomaa arrives from Polish side Energa AZS Koszalin, where her strong displays caught the attention of scouts.

Gomaa's performances in Poland played a key role in securing her transfer. She led the league in saves, establishing herself as one of its top shot-stoppers. Her form also earned recognition at the African Championships, where she was named the tournament's best goalkeeper.

Head coach Herbert Müller highlighted her impact at the continental event. He described her as a decisive and reliable presence between the posts. The club sees her as a ready-made replacement for Lövgren Hallberg, who will leave at the end of the current campaign. The Egyptian international will officially join Thüringer HC when the new season begins. Her arrival marks the first time the club has signed a player from the Polish league in recent years.

Gomaa's signing adds experience and quality to Thüringer HC's squad. She will compete for the starting spot after Lövgren Hallberg's exit. The club expects her to bring stability to the defensive unit in the coming campaign.
