Gear up, folks! The German Weather Service (DWD) is forecasting wet and stormy weather for Bavaria's Free State. Starting as early as Sunday afternoon, showers, and thunderstorms are set to roll in from the west, with potential hail measured at up to three centimeters in size. Keep an eye out for gusty winds and torrential rain as well.

Emergency services, including police and fire departments, were on high alert in Franconia in the afternoons and evenings due to fallen trees, flooded streets, and waterlogged basements. Understandably, they've been busy dealing with the storm's aftermath, with Franconia seeing the brunt of the storm's impacts.

The DWD issued warnings for heavy thunderstorms in Lower Franconia, Upper Franconia, Middle Franconia, Swabia, Upper Palatinate, and Upper Bavaria. In Upper Franconia, they reported several deployments to tackle the situation, such as the damage to a gymnasium in Trebgast (Kulmbach district).

On the bright side, the weather should clear up somewhat towards the end of Sunday in Lower Franconia, with the sun making occasional appearances. Temperatures are expected to range from 19 to 24 degrees.

Tuesday's forecast looks a bit gloomy as well - remember to keep that umbrella handy! Rain and individual thunderstorms could splash down quickly, spoiling the sunny start to the day. Wednesday continues this pattern, with sunny skies giving way to significant cloud cover and widespread showers, especially in the south, where heavy thunderstorms are possible. Highs will be between 20 and 27 degrees.
