Thunderstorms and heavy rains predicted in the Habarovsk region

The Khabarovsk region in Russia is bracing for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and potential flooding this weekend, according to meteorologists at the Khabarovsk Hydrometeorological Center. The forecasted weather conditions are expected to affect not only the Khabarovsk Territory, but also the Primorsky Territory and the Amur Region, as part of a broader pattern affecting the Far East.

The unusual weather is caused by the inflow of very warm, unstable air masses from China combined with low atmospheric pressure, leading to atmospheric instability and intense rains, even at high temperatures. This pattern is predicted to persist from July 5 to July 6, 2025.

While precise sub-areas within the Khabarovsk region are not explicitly detailed in the forecast, the general expectation is for widespread heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across the region during these days, raising the risk of flooding and hazardous conditions.

Galina Bryntseva, a meteorologist, has predicted heavy rain on Sunday, adding to the concern. The Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Khabarovsk region has also issued a warning, stating that potential flooding is a real possibility due to the expected rainfall.

Daytime temperatures on July 6 are expected to reach between +27°C and +29°C, while overnight temperatures will range from +17°C to +19°C. Southwestern winds will reach 5-10 m/s on Sunday.

However, there is some good news on the horizon. Meteorologists predict that the weather will improve next week, with mostly dry conditions and daytime highs reaching up to +25°C to +30°C. Moderate winds are also expected next week.

Residents of the Khabarovsk region are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this period of unstable weather.

The weather forecast indicates heavy rain and thunderstorms, which could potentially lead to flooding, in the Khabarovsk region due to the inflow of warm, unstable air masses and low atmospheric pressure. Weather-forecasting experts like Galina Bryntseva are predicting such conditions, prompting the Russian Emergencies Ministry to issue a warning.
