Thriving India: IIJS Premiere 2025 Fueling Billions in Export Earnings due to Government Policies
The India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) Premiere 2025, held from July 30 to August 4, took centre stage in Mumbai, showcasing India's prominence in the global gem and jewellery trade. Organised by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), the event took place at two locations: the JIO World Convention Centre and the Bombay Exhibition Centre, NESCO Goregaon.
A Global Stage for India's Jewellery Excellence
As India's largest and one of the world's biggest B2B gem and jewellery exhibitions, IIJS Premiere 2025 played a pivotal role in showcasing India's prowess in the global jewellery market. The 41st edition attracted over 50,000 trade visitors from 1,300 Indian cities and over 3,000 buyers from 80 countries, demonstrating India's global influence in this sector.
Brilliant Bharat: A Celebration of India's Rich Heritage

A Boost for India's Jewellery Exports
The 41st edition aimed to generate business worth an estimated ₹70,000 crore over the next quarter. This ambitious target was driven by favourable policy developments, including key trade agreements like the India-UK Free Trade Agreement and the anticipated India-US bilateral trade agreement. These agreements are crucial as they open new markets and boost India's jewellery exports internationally, reinforcing IIJS's role as a catalyst for the sector's growth.
Highlights of the Event
One of the highlights of the event was The Select Club - a dedicated couture section featuring 118 exhibitors showcasing high-end jewellery. Another significant aspect was the Innov8 seminar, which created a networking space for young entrepreneurs and family businesses.
Sustainability at the Forefront
Sustainability was central to IIJS 2025, with the event being powered by 100% green energy, banning single-use materials, and planting over 200,000 trees. In addition, Mr. Nirav Bhansali, a prominent figure in the industry, mentioned plans to announce a timeline for IIJS to become fully carbon-neutral, potentially by 2030 or 2032.
A Glimpse into the Future of Indian Jewellery
The event showcased a diverse range of products, including diamond, gemstone and studded jewellery, gold and gold CZ jewellery, lab-grown diamonds, silver jewellery and artefacts, high-end couture jewellery, colour gemstones, machinery, technology, and allied industries.
