Thrilling and invigorating, Neu Gülze hosts its inaugural autocross competition

The first heat of the Neu Gülzer Autocross Race, marking the culmination of the racing season of the WBG series around Mecklenburg's Autocross Cup, kicked off on September 20th at 9.15 AM. Organised by Marcel Windt, better known as Heino, and Henrik König, the event has attracted over 100 drivers, some of whom are young and have yet to obtain their driver's licenses.

The race track, carefully constructed with countless construction fences and anchored by 48 bales of hay, demands a toll from the competitors, particularly in the second curve. Heino expressed his gratitude for the help received from the administration, municipality, and friends and acquaintances during preparations.

Many sponsors have rallied behind the event, including Scheune, Northern Rednex Germany, Team Banana, Team Waschow, Team Blau, Team Warnow, Gemüsegarten Gresse, Autohaus Neumann, Getränke Hoffmann, and Auto-Teile-Unger (ATU). Heino also thanked these sponsors for their support.

The event has been met with enthusiasm from the curious attendees who found their way to Neu Gülze. The start of the vehicles was accompanied by dirt flying and engines roaring, creating a thrilling atmosphere. Henrik König's first heat was hotly contested, with drivers feeling the competition amidst the noise and dirt in their cars.

Henrik König revealed that he races without mirrors in his vehicle, adding an extra layer of challenge to the race. Heino closely monitored the still pristine track before the first start, ensuring it remained in top condition for the competition.

Mayor Frank Ahrens found the event fantastic for the municipality and suggested it could be repeated. The race, being a debut event for the autocross series, has set a high bar for future events. Three to four tractors were used to straighten the track throughout the day, ensuring a smooth and safe race for all participants.

As the race progresses, the competition heats up, with drivers vying for positions and points. The Neu Gülzer Autocross Race is shaping up to be an exciting event, and it's clear that the organisers have put in a great deal of effort to make it a success.
