Three-year-old horse under the ownership of Francis Graffard is reportedly content with its current circumstances ahead of the Juddmonte International competition, where it remains undefeated.
York's Ebor Meeting Kicks Off with Exciting Races
The first day of York's prestigious Ebor meeting is upon us, and the anticipation is high as several horses prepare for their races.
In the 2.25, 4.45, 5.20, and other races, there are some notable non-runners due to various reasons such as bad scope, bruised foot, temperature, and not eaten up. Despite these setbacks, the show must go on.
One horse to watch in the Juddmonte International is Danon Decile, trained by Shogo Yasuda. Graffard and jockey Mickael Barzalona walked the track before midday and found the ground to be "lovely". Danon Decile has been making waves in the racing world, having been trained for this very race.
Harry Wilson and Tom Segal are providing tips for every race on day one at York. Wilson also praises the quality of Danon Decile, stating that it is a strong contender for the Juddmonte International. Harry Bentley, another jockey participating in the meet, shares Wilson's sentiment, believing Delacroix would be his pick among the Juddmonte International contenders.
Francis Graffard, who is training Daryz for the Juddmonte International race, is "very happy" with the conditions. Daryz has an unbeaten record, with its latest victory in the Prix Eugene Adam at Saint-Cloud. The ground conditions for the Juddmonte International are considered suitable by Graffard, given that the ground was officially good to soft when Daryz won its last race.
Distant Storm is the current favourite for the Tattersalls Acomb Stakes at 11-10. Meanwhile, Dublin Bay, for which Bentley has a ride in the Sky Bet Nursery Handicap, has won its last two races at Ffos Las and Doncaster.
The ground at York is a 50:50 split between good to firm and good. Interestingly, the stands' side has a minor advantage with a GoingStick reading of 6.2, while the centre and far side are at 6.1 and 6.0, respectively.
The weather forecast for Wednesday is dry, with temperatures reaching as high as 17C. So, grab your sunscreen and head to York for an exciting day of racing!
