The Wiesn, a 16-day event held annually in Munich, Germany, is a spectacle that attracts approximately 6.8 million individuals from all over the world. Contrary to popular belief, the Wiesn is not a commemoration of a specific wedding, nor is it an intimate gathering.

The Wiesn is a vibrant mix of rides, colorful stalls, and businesses of all kinds. A unique aspect of the event is the sight of men wearing traditional outfits, while some women don pseudo-dirndls, particularly during speed-dating events. These pseudo-dirndls are often shiny, knee-free, and have bolero blouses.

The annual Oktoberfest is officially opened by the Munich mayor, who performs the traditional first beer keg tapping, marking the start of the festival on the Theresienwiese. The first liter of beer at the Wiesn is relatively inexpensive compared to the spectacle it provides. However, a liter of beer can cost up to 17 euros at Lake Garda during the Wiesn, and 19 euros in Amalfi.

The Wiesn is a source of entertainment, and while some people express their disapproval of it with almost missionary zeal, others view it as a festival of joy for people from all over the world. The event is attended by various groups, including innkeepers, showmen, police officers, and planetarians, who wear traditional and pseudo-traditional attire.

Despite its divisive nature, the Wiesn is a unique atmosphere created by the mix of these various groups. The traditionally sporty process of complaining about the beer price is a firmly established ritual during the Wiesn. It's important to note that no one is blamed for not wanting to attend the Wiesn for any reason.

The Bavarian philosopher Manfred S. from M. states that experienced prophets wait for events to unfold. The Wiesn, with its unique blend of tradition and modernity, continues to unfold, dividing opinion but ultimately allowing each individual to come to their own conclusion, with or without understanding.
