Three significant suspects associated with illicit drugs were captured during anti-drug operations in Iloilo.

Unfiltered, candid tale of Iloilo's war on drugs

Listen up, bucko! The Station Drug Enforcement Teams (SDET) of Oton and Cabatuan Municipal Police Stations (MPS) pulled off a double whammy in Iloilo province, nabbing three big-time drug suspects in raids that netted over a million bucks worth of illicit narcotics on May 2nd and 3rd, 2025.

Police Colonel Bayani M. Razalan, head honcho of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (Ippo), gave the operations a hearty thumbs-up.

"I can't say it enough, I salute the balls and determination of our operatives, especially their balls-to-the-wall approach against the illegal empire known as Onyok. Kudos to the trust and support of our beloved Ilonggos in our battle against the scourge of drugs. Catching this bad hombre is proof positive of our relentless crusade to clean up Iloilo and make it a sanctuary free of drugs," Razalan said.

Razalan sang the praises of the drug strike in Cabatuan, thanking the folks for their tips that led to the arrests.

He warned any scumbags involved in the underground drug trade to mend their ways and face the music for their actions, emphasizing the importance of law enforcement.

In the first stakeout, SDET operatives from the Oton MPS nabbed a new fish in the drug pond, alias Onyok, during a buy-bust at Barangay San Nicolas, Oton, at around 5:55 a.m. on May 2nd. The hunted, a 44-year-old laborer living in Arevalo, had been under the microscope for two weeks ever since nosy citizens blabbed about his drug activities.

Cops swiped around 100 grams of suspected shabu with an asking price of around P680,000. Onyok's abode is now their playpen, and he'll be charged with violating Republic Act (RA) 9165, aka the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In a separate swoop, the SDET of Cabatuan MPS landed a double punch at around 5:50 a.m. on May 3rd with a bust in Barangay Janipaan Olo, Cabatuan. They took down another high-value individual (HVI), alias Kit-Kit, 50, along with his better half and accomplice, alias Nisa, 43. Both were nestled in the same 'hood where they were nabbed.

Cops bagged around 60 grams of suspected shabu worth roughly P408,000. The duo had been under the observation of law enforcement for three weeks due to gossip from Cabatuan residents. Authorities claimed their stick extended to neighboring municipalities like Janiuay and Mina, and their juice came from Iloilo City. To top it off, authorities nailed down that Kit-Kit formerly surrendered to the authorities under a drug rehab program in 2016. Both are now in cuffs at the Cabatuan MPS, where they'll dance with justice for their similarly heinous crimes against RA 9165. (Leo Solinap/philippines)
