Three Places for Great Britain in the Schleswig-Holstein Net Cup Competition

In a thrilling display of rowing prowess, Great Britain's Men's eight and Women's quadruple sculls crews made their mark at the Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup in Germany.

The Men's eight, comprising members from the Leander Club, Oxford Brookes University BC, Molesey BC, and University of Bristol BC, finished third in the competition. George Reed from the Leander Club, Levin Graf who is affiliated with both Leander Club and Rob Roy BC, and cox Beatrice Argyle from Oxford Brookes University BC were part of the team. The full crew list beyond these named members was not fully provided in the sources.

The Women's quadruple sculls, on the other hand, made history as the first women's crews to participate in the Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup. The crew, consisting of Poppy Baker (2025 World Rowing U23 Championship gold medallist), Freya Keto (GB Rowing Team), Rebekah Court (recent World University Games women's double sculls A final competitor), and Heloise Wormleighton (Molesey BC), were coached by Pete Sheppard (GB Rowing Team Head Coach – Olympic Pathway) and Sam Sheppard (Oxford Brookes University). The team finished the race in 43.11 minutes, with Germany taking the victory.

The Men's eight, led by Toby Lassen (affiliated with Oxford Brookes University BC and Great Marlow Swans) and Levin Graf, also saw success in the Men's pair at the 2025 World University Games, with Lassen and Felix Rawlinson securing a bronze medal. Max Mills and Beatrice Argyle, members of the Men's eight crew, also won gold medals at the same event in the men's and women's eight respectively.

Henry Pearson and Ben Sheppard provided regatta support for Great Britain's rowing team during the Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup. Pete Sheppard, the Head Coach for the Olympic Pathway of Great Britain's rowing team, and Sam Sheppard, a coach for Oxford Brookes University's rowing team, coached both crews.

In another notable achievement, Robbie Prosser, Kai Schlottmann, Jonathan Cameron, and George Reed are other members of the Men's eight crew. Freya Keto, Poppy Baker, Heloise Wormleighton, and Rebekah Court are the members of the Women's quadruple sculls crew.

The Men's eight completed the race in 37.41 minutes, with German crews taking the first and second places in the Men's eight race. The Women's quadruple sculls race saw Germany and the Netherlands battling it out, with Germany emerging as the winners.

This competition serves as a promising start for these talented crews as they continue to prepare for future rowing events.
