In a shocking turn of events, a bus traveling from Karachi to Quetta in Balochistan, Pakistan, was ambushed on July 17, resulting in at least three fatalities and seven to eleven injuries. The incident occurred in the Nemargh area of the Kalat district.

According to initial reports, militants were in ambush and attacked the bus from both sides of the road. Some reports suggest a rocket-propelled grenade was used in the attack, although the exact method remains unconfirmed.

The attack left several passengers critically injured, with some being transferred to the Civil Hospital Quetta for treatment. The injured women are reported to be out of danger, while the number of injured has since increased to ten.

President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the attack, directing officials to provide the best medical treatment to the injured. He also stated that targeting innocent civilians is an extremely cruel and condemnable act.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has taken serious notice of the incident and ordered a detailed report from the police and other law enforcement agencies. The Balochistan government spokesperson, Shahid Rind, reported that security forces, the district administration, and rescue teams rushed to the scene of the attack.

A search operation was launched in the area to apprehend the attackers and check for any other potential threats. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. In a separate incident, three women were injured in a roadside bomb blast in Quetta's Hazar Ganji area.

The investigation is ongoing, with security forces pursuing the attackers and cordoning off the area. A search operation is currently underway to ensure the safety of the public and to bring those responsible for the attack to justice. The incident is part of the ongoing militant violence in Balochistan, where various groups often target infrastructure and security forces.

In a related development, a bomb planted on a motorcycle was detonated remotely near Murree Camp in Quetta, causing an explosion. The motive behind this incident is also yet to be ascertained.
