Three law enforcement officers killed, two injured, during warrant service in York County, according to officials' statements.

In a tragic turn of events, an officer-involved shooting occurred in North Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania, on February 2, 2025. The incident, which took place in the 1800 block of Haar Road, has claimed the lives of three officers from the Northern York County Regional Police Department and the Sheriff's Office.

The shooting was reported around 2:10 p.m., prompting a response from multiple police and fire agencies. The area of Haar Road and Emig Road has been closed for the ongoing investigation, and the public is asked to avoid the area, as it remains active, though there is no current threat.

The Spring Grove School District had all district schools between K-12 on shelter in place due to the incident, which was unrelated to students and staff in the district. The shelter in place ended at 4:10 p.m. WellSpan, a local hospital, was also placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure.

Two more officers were critically wounded during the same incident, and two people were treated in serious condition, according to WellSpan. The York County Coroner was called to the scene, and Governor Josh Shapiro has asked locals to follow the directions of local law enforcement and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Governor Shapiro made a statement at a press conference at York Wellspan Hospital, expressing his condolences to the officers' families and the departments they served. He also stated that he is en route to the area to gain a better understanding of the situation.

The investigation into the shooting is still evolving, according to York County Public Information Officer Ted Czech. Pennsylvania State Police are handling the investigation, and they are seeking any information from the public that may aid in their efforts.

This is the second time officers from the Northern York County Regional Police Department have been involved in a shooting in 2025. The community is urged to come together during this difficult time, and we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
