The Seattle Mariners are celebrating a successful All-Star selection this year, with three of their players chosen as American League reserves for the upcoming game on July 15 at Atlanta's Truist Park. The selected players are starting pitcher Bryan Woo, closer Andrés Muñoz, and outfielder Julio Rodríguez[1].

Andrés Muñoz, who ranks among the AL leaders in most pitching categories and boasts the No. 1 spot among AL relievers with a 1.06 ERA, was selected for the All-Star Game for the second time[2]. Muñoz, who is particularly proud to represent Mexico in the All-Star Game, is planning to fly in his family from Los Mochis, Mexico, for the event[3]. In addition, he has expressed his excitement about the opportunity to represent his team[4].

Last year, Muñoz's older brothers drove to see him at the All-Star Game in Texas[5]. This time around, he plans to bring his cat, Matilda, to the All-Star Game[6].

Julio Rodríguez, who is having an impressive season, has been selected as an All-Star for the third time in his first four major-league seasons[7]. Rodríguez's ERA is 2.77[8].

Adam JudeCal Raleigh, the major-league home run leader, was named the AL starting catcher for the MLB All-Star Game[9]. Raleigh will participate in the Home Run Derby for the first time on July 14[10].

Bryan Woo, with a commendable ERA of 2.77, will also make his All-Star debut[11]. The Mariners manager Dan Wilson was able to break the news to Rodríguez, Woo, and Muñoz on Sunday morning[12].

This is the most selections for the Mariners since 2018[13]. Kazuhiro Sasaki was the first Mariners relief pitcher to earn multiple All-Star selections (in 2001 and '02)[14]. The 2023 All-Star Game promises to be an exciting event for the Seattle Mariners and their fans.
