Three ancient rulers, a Pharaoh, a President, and a Supreme Leader, convene at a Political Action Committee meeting.
The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, is now home to a new comedy club called Holy Cross Entropy. The club, which aims to be a place where anyone interested in comedy can join, was established with the intention of providing a chaotic and random platform for every type of comedian.
The co-chairs of Holy Cross Entropy, Caitlin Wiffler, Piper Guiney, and Patrick Ryan, are spearheading the club's efforts. Wiffler, who came up with the name for the club, was inspired by the Harvard Lampoon.
Holy Cross Entropy held its first meeting on Thursday and performed their inaugural on-campus show in Stein 120 on Tuesday. The club encourages anyone interested in comedy, whether writing, acting, or pitching ideas, to attend. Meetings take place every Thursday at 4 p.m. in Hogan 402.
The club's focus is on sketch writing, production, and comedic antics. In early April, they wowed an audience of Boston College students with their performance.
In addition to the new comedy club, the College of the Holy Cross is also committed to sustainability. The College's Office of Sustainability, established in April 2020, has already made headway on a series of environmentally-progressive initiatives. Sustainability practices are built into a number of facilities and buildings at Holy Cross.
The College is dedicated to the Jesuit Mission and puts a goal of sustainability at its core. In fact, Holy Cross aims to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. The College's commitment to sustainability was on display during Purple Goes Green Week, a successful event at the school.
