Three adolescents detained under consideration for homicide following discovery of a deceased man in a coastal town of the UK
In the coastal village of Leysdown-on-Sea, Kent, a tragic incident unfolded on a Sunday evening. The incident took place in the Warden Bay Road area shortly after 7 pm.
The victim of the incident was a 49-year-old man named Alexander Cashford. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were promptly dispatched following reports of a confrontation. Unfortunately, Mr. Cashford suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the emergency services. His next of kin have been informed.
Kent Police have launched a murder investigation in the village, with a large open area behind the beach and a public footpath leading to the shore sealed off as part of the investigation. A police officer is stationed at a fenced-off section of land near the beach, ensuring the area remains secure.
Three teenagers—a 16-year-old girl and two boys aged 14 and 15—have been taken into custody in connection with the incident. The trio, all from London, have been charged with murder and have appeared in court. They remain in custody as the investigation continues.
Although no further details about the identities of the minors or the victim have been released by the authorities, Kent Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward. The case is being treated as a murder investigation in the United Kingdom, with three teenagers detained in the UK on suspicion of murder.
