Thousands Protest in Saarbrücken-Malstatt Against Syria Developments
Thousands of people gathered in Saarbrücken-Malstatt on 08.12.2024 to protest recent developments in Syria. The event, coordinated by the Saarbrücken police, saw over 4000 attendees and ended with no reported injuries.
The demonstration began at the intersection of Breite Straße and Bruckenstraße. As the crowd grew to around 1000, two emergency meetings were approved by the police, relocating the assembly to Landwehrplatz. By the end of the day, over 4000 people had joined the protest.
Throughout the evening, car rallies and traffic disruptions were observed in the city center. Despite the disruptions, no injuries were reported to the police. Fireworks were set off during the celebrations, but no one was put in danger. A drone was briefly launched but swiftly stopped by the assembly leader.
The Saarbrücken police successfully coordinated security measures for the emergency meeting on 08.12.2024. Despite significant traffic disruptions, the event concluded peacefully with no reported injuries.
