Lil Wayne and Tyga Deliver High-Energy Performance at Empower FCU Amphitheater
Lil Wayne and Tyga brought their electrifying energy to Syracuse, New York, on August 8, 2025, as they took the stage at the Empower FCU Amphitheater at Lakeview. The concert, which served as part of Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV" tour, attracted a crowd of nearly 19,000 fans, slightly over the venue's capacity.
The night started with Tyga's energetic performance, which included hits like "A Milli," "Still Be Friends," and "Steady Mobbin'." He also paid tribute to Young Money with a cover of "Take A Step" featuring Lil Novi. Tyga's short set concluded, paving the way for the main act.
As the clock struck 10 p.m., Lil Wayne took the stage, opening with "King Carter" and "Welcome to Tha Carter." The crowd erupted in cheers, singing along to every word. The setlist included fan favourites such as "Blunt Blowin'," "Love Me," "Mrs. Officer," and "HYFR (Hell Ya F---in Right)."
Lil Wayne and Tyga also performed collaborative tracks, including "BedRock" and "Loyal." Jay Jones joined them for covers of "Racks" and "Real Luv," adding his unique style to the performances.
Jay Jones also had a solo performance, donning "Shoes" as he sang his biggest hits, including "Got Money," "Lollipop," "Fireman," "6 Foot 7 Foot," and "Every Girl."
The concert concluded with Lil Wayne finishing his set at 11:28 p.m., past the venue's noise curfew. Despite this, the crowd remained energised, appreciating the high-energy performance that the night had offered.
In addition to Lil Wayne and Tyga, the Empower FCU Amphitheater at Lakeview in Syracuse hosted a series of concerts in the summer of 2025. Previously, Barenaked Ladies, Sugar Ray, and Fastball performed as part of their Last Summer On Earth Tour on July 23, 2025. The Offspring, along with Jimmy Eat World and New Found Glory, took the stage on July 22, 2025. Creed also performed on July 11, 2025.
