In the heart of Perm city centre, a rich tapestry of cultural events is unfolding throughout July and early August as part of ongoing city celebrations and festivals. The city is buzzing with music, workshops, competitions, and community celebrations, all focused on arts, sports, and youth engagement.

The festivities kicked off with the City Day and Russia Day Celebrations on the central Kama embankment, attracting approximately 35,000 people. The events included children's performances, street musicians like violinist Mikhail Vitvitsky and saxophonist Sergey Shein, a concert by the band “Ananas,” and DJ sets from local artists. For the first time, the “Bloggers of Russia” festival was held in Perm as part of the Youth Capital 2025 events, culminating in the “Air Beauty” flash mob where participants released a large Russian flag made from 30,000 ribbons into the sky[1].

A formal event took place at the Soldatov Palace of Culture where Mayor Eduard Sosnin presented awards to twenty cultural workers nominated for their achievements in culture and the arts. The event was judged by a jury including honored cultural workers and experts from Russia[1].

Various parts of the city hosted entertainment and creative workshops in early July. For example, the Sverdlovsky District held programs near the Kalinin Palace of Culture, Motovilikhinsky District had events at Yury Kalachnikov Square, and Dzerzhinsky District hosted children’s creative workshops titled “The Bear that Unites” until June 13[1].

On July 2, Perm hosted a qualifying round of the International Street Culture and Sports Competition “CARDO,” highlighting urban culture and sports, which likely included performances and competitions in the city centre[3].

Meanwhile, in St. Petersburg, the city centre offers a plethora of attractions, including the majestic Kama River and renowned theaters. Gastronomic establishments in the city cater to visitors with authentic cuisine, providing a taste of the city's rich cultural heritage[2].

The cultural events in Perm will continue with the "Rituals-Finery" ethnic festival on July 5-6, followed by the "Star Fest" family event on July 12-13. The city centre will host major cultural events every weekend in July[1]. The program will culminate in the special event "City Night" in late August[1].

In St. Petersburg, an extension of the Kirovsko-Vyborgskaya Line in the city's metro is promised[4]. However, it's important to note that installment payments cannot replace mortgages for St. Petersburg housing buyers[4]. The average price of apartments in St. Petersburg's new buildings has been calculated[4].

The cultural events continue in Perm with music performances by street artists like violinist Mikhail Vitvitsky and saxophonist Sergey Shein, as well as the band “Ananas” and local DJ sets, all forming part of the entertainment offerings. In the heart of Perm city centre, the ethnic festival "Rituals-Finery" and the family event "Star Fest" will also showcase music and other forms of entertainment.
