In the heart of Osterfeld, a multifunctional complex is taking shape, symbolising the impactful work of the Social Cohesion Council Oberhausen-Osterfeld. The complex, which includes a youth centre, a neighbourhood library, and a multi-purpose auditorium, is the brainchild of Thomas Krey, the District Mayor of Osterfeld and the economic policy spokesman of the SPD faction.
During the planning stages, Krey emphasised the importance of thinking big, leading to the concept of the "big solution" for the multifunctional complex. His vision is now becoming a reality, with the construction of the complex underway at the site of the Osterfeld Comprehensive School.
Krey expressed his gratitude towards the council members for their trust, having received 12 out of the 18 votes in the re-election. He is committed to showing concrete projects emerging from urban renewal processes and the effectiveness of citizen participation in Osterfeld.
