This weekend's lineup of sports commentators and pundits on TNT Sports.
The buildup for the highly anticipated Community Shield match between Premier League winners Liverpool and FA Cup winners Crystal Palace begins this weekend on TNT Sports and Discovery. The match, scheduled for August 10 at 3pm at Wembley Stadium, marks the start of a new football season.
TNT Sports has not yet confirmed the specific roles for Fara Williams, Joe Cole, Michail Antonio, and other potential commentators, but it has been reported that former Liverpool and Real Madrid player, Steve McManaman, is involved in the commentary team. Another West Ham hero, Michail Antonio, is also linked up for the commentary, and TV's favourite co-commentator, Ally McCoist, returns to the gantry for the Community Shield match.
The voice of TNT Sports, Darren Fletcher, will also be present in the commentary booth, and it's unclear whether McManaman will be the main commentator or will rotate with McCoist during the match. Former Lioness Fara Williams is also linked up for the commentary, and Cult West Ham hero Joe Cole is also part of the team.
Becky Ives will be reporting from pitchside during the Community Shield match. The audio and video commentary for TNT Sports may be available on Liverpool FC dedicated channels.
In the United States, the match will be broadcasted on ESPN with Jon Champion (play-by-play) and analyst Craig Burley. Sideline reporters include Nedum Onuoha and Frank Leboeuf, with Beth Lindop providing Liverpool beat coverage. The pre-game and post-game shows feature Alexis Nunes, Steve Nicol, and Shaka Hislop.
Rio Ferdinand, who retired at the end of last season, will be replaced by Joel Ward, a stalwart of Crystal Palace, in the punditry team for the Community Shield match.
This repeat of the final day of the last season promises to be an exciting start to the new football season, and fans can look forward to a thrilling match with an exciting commentary team.
