"This Marks the First Step": Sea Devils Affirm after Distressful Appeal
Comment SectionHamburg Sea Devils sailed to victory in an impressive win against Berlin Thunder, leaving behind their heavy defeat in Bremen. In their fourth game of the season, the team secured their second win, with a convincing score of 31:14 (28:0) at the Hoheluft Stadium.
Defensive boss Kyle Kitchens set the tone before the game, expressing their ambition to be Europe's top defense. As former NFL star Kasim Edebali tossed the coin, the Sea Devils delivered a stellar performance in front of 2,500 spectators.
A Fresh Start for Tagovailoa
The Sea Devils quickly scored a touchdown thanks to an interception by Jeremy Hecker. In the following drive, Berlin quarterback Jakeb Sullivan tossed another interception, this time to Nazir Streater. Hamburg's new quarterback, Taulia Tagovailoa, who had a disastrous start against Stuttgart, showed significant improvement. On his first throw, he connected with Terryon Robinson for an 84-yard touchdown.
Kitchens: "We ruled the first half"
After forcing Berlin to punt, the Sea Devils moved smoothly down the field. Another touchdown followed, completed by Madin Cerezo over eleven yards. The lead grew to 21:0 in the first quarter, 28:0 at halftime, and soon 31:0.
Despite the heavy rain, the quality of the game decreased in the second half. Berlin managed to add two touchdowns, but they never came close. "We played great in the first half," Kitchens shared with the MOPO. "It's acceptable that we eased up a bit afterward," he continued. "But that was just the beginning. We just need to keep going, step by step."
Up next for the Hamburg Sea Devils is a match against Rhein Fire in Düsseldorf in Week 5, followed by a return home on June 22 for their next game at Stadion Hoheluft. While their defense has been commendable, the team is working to improve their offense, aiming to secure better results in the remainder of the season.
Hamburg Sea Devils' defense, led by defensive boss Kyle Kitchens, aimed to establish themselves as the top defense in European leagues. In the second quarter of their game against Berlin Thunder, Taulia Tagovailoa, Hamburg's quarterback seeking redemption after a disastrous start against Stuttgart, threw an 84-yard touchdown pass to Terryon Robinson, showcasing significant improvement in sports, specifically football.
