Ready for the smallest Slam of the year? The Borgi-Cup, our region's favorite tennis event for juniors, is back and better than ever! Mark your calendars for August 29th-31st as the young guns take over the clay courts at the Opummer TC's Fungendonk location.
So who's eligible to join the action? Players born between 2015 and 2018 will get the opportunity to showcase their skills. The format remains the same – all games kick off simultaneously, the serve is underhand, and a one bounce rule applies before hitting the ball. Keep those volleys at bay. Simple scoring making it a breeze to keep track. If you're neck-and-neck at the final signal, the game ain't over until a winner is declared.
Where's it happening, you ask? Head over to Fungendonk and witness the excitement unfold from August 29th at 3 PM. Matches continue all day Saturday with the grand finals and awards ceremony scheduled for Sunday at around noon and 5 PM respectively.
But wait, there's more! Winners and runners-up will take home trophies and rockin' prizes. Every participant will grab a souvenir T-shirt and a surprise to remember this fun-filled weekend by. Tournament boss Manfred Weyers and his team promise a smooth ride. The entry fee is a cool 25 euros.
