In a bid to ensure a peaceful and safe environment for the upcoming local and national midterm elections on May 12, 2025, a whopping 12,168 police officers are being mobilized across Davao Region as part of a "broad security operation."

On April 30, 2025, regional director of the Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-Davao) Brigadier General Leon Victor Rosete announced the deployment, which includes numerous specialized agencies.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is taking a proactive approach with various national and regional divisions joining forces. The Special Action Force (SAF), the Regional Highway Patrol Unit-Davao Region (RHPU-Davao), 1,557 soldiers from the 10^{th} Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, 184 members from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and 195 employees from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) are bringing their forces into play with fire trucks providing logistical support.

As preparations intensify for the upcoming election, Rosete emphasized the PNP's role in maintaining the integrity of the voting process, especially as multiple agencies work together and with Special Electoral Boards (SEBs).

"Our mission is clear: to ensure every citizen can exercise their right to vote without fear or intimidation. The PNP personnel will meticulously secure polling places, control access, and prevent unauthorized entry," said Rosete at the send-off ceremony for the election security personnel at the PRO-Davao Parade Ground, Camp Sgt. Quintin M. Merecido in Buhangin, Davao City.

The SEBs assigned to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) will consist of 500 officers from PRO-Davao and 41 from the Regional Maritime Unit.

In addition, all participating agencies pledged to uphold the directive from the National Headquarters to secure the voting process and protect election integrity.

"Moreover, PRO 11 and its partner agencies are fully prepared to ensure that all voters can cast their votes freely, safely, and without fear," added Rosete.

Meanwhile, acting city director of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Col. Hansel Marantan assured the public and Dabawenyos that the city's campaign will adhere to "political neutrality."

"We guarantee that no political favoritism influences the deployment of police officers," Marantan assured.
