Rostov-on-Don, Russia, witnessed a drone attack on August 14, 2025, that resulted in injuries and damage to several apartment buildings and private cars. The attack occurred on Tel'man and Lermontovskaya streets.

According to reports, the drone crash led to 13 people being injured, with six of them currently receiving treatment in hospitals. Two of the injured were children. Sappers are working diligently at the scene to manage the aftermath.

Acting regional Governor Yury Slyusar confirmed the injuries and reported damage to buildings on Telman and Lermontovskaya streets. Emergency services and local government officials were promptly dispatched to the scene.

Preliminary data suggests that windows and balconies in 10 high-rise buildings were damaged in the attack. The area has been cordoned off to ensure safety and facilitate the ongoing investigation.

Video evidence circulating on social media, although not officially confirmed by independent sources, supports the occurrence of the attack. It is important to note that Russian security-linked Telegram channels have released footage showing the drone crashing into the building, but independent verification of these videos remains outstanding.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported intercepting multiple Ukrainian drones earlier the same day over other regions, but did not specifically mention Rostov-on-Don in their statement. Ukraine has not publicly commented on the reported strike in Rostov-on-Don.

To address the immediate needs of those affected, assistance is being provided, and a temporary accommodation centre has been set up. Information about the damage is being updated as the situation unfolds.

In a related incident on August 21, a Ukrainian drone strike caused a fire at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in Rostov Oblast, indicating continued drone activity in the region. The investigation into both incidents is ongoing.
