Spain's Bullfighting Gallery: La Malagueta Welcomes 13 Schools for the XVIII International Competition

The iconic bullring of Málaga will thunder with explosive talent from August 10 to 13 as the XVIII International Schools of Bullfighting Competition, 'La Malagueta,' rolls into town. Organized by the Málaga Provincial Council's Bullfighting School, this exhilarating event is sponsored by Lances de Futuro.
A whopping 13 bullfighting schools from Spain, Portugal, and Mexico will gather to showcase young talents, fighting tooth and nail to make it to the final round. In a groundbreaking move, not only a professional jury but also the public, voting via their mobile devices, will play a pivotal role in determining who advances and who takes home the grand prize.
Francisco Salado, President of the Provincial Council, along with Óscar Medina, Director/Manager of the Málaga Provincial Council's Bullfighting School, and Rafael Ruiz, Director of Holycard, shared these details and highlighted the competition's significance. Over the years, 'La Malagueta' has been a springboard for many promising bullfighters who've gone on to dominate the scene, such as José Garrido, Saúl Jiménez Fortes, Joaquín Galdós, Román, Lama de Góngora, López Simón, Daniel Crespo, and Fernando Rey.

The grand final on August 13 will be aired on 101 Andalucía and offers the winner a golden opportunity to participate in the bullfighting with picadors of the Great Bullfighting Fair 2025 at the esteemed La Malagueta.
