Third Division Football Team Reshuffle: Departure of Coach Glawogger from Waldhof
SV Waldhof Mannheim Part Ways with Coach Dominik Glawogger
SV Waldhof Mannheim, a third-tier football club in Germany, has announced the departure of coach Dominik Glawogger. The decision was made after just two matchdays in the new season, following a 0:1 defeat against FC Hansa Rostock.
Glawogger took over from Bernhard Trares as coach in April and coached Waldhof in a total of nine competitive games across two seasons. His win-loss-draw record as coach of Waldhof stands at three wins, one draw, and two losses, translating to an approximately 33% win percentage.
Prior to the defeat against FC Hansa Rostock, Glawogger's tenure included one draw and one defeat in the new season. The previous game saw a 2:2 draw against SC Verl. Last season, SV Waldhof Mannheim only just managed to avoid relegation.
Sports director Gerhard Zuber explained the resignation as a failure to advance in sporting development at the start of the season. The club's statement did not name a successor for Glawogger.
Luc Holtz has been appointed as the new coach of SV Waldhof Mannheim following his resignation as Luxembourg's national men's team coach. Holtz plans to bring a playing style emphasizing ball possession and defensive solidity to the club. He was officially unveiled on August 12, 2025.
