Third Annual "Arrr & Arrr" Pirate-themed Sports Festival to be Held at Park University on February 20th

Park University is set to host the "Arrr & Arrr" event on February 20th, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the McCoy Meetin' House on the Parkville Campus. This exciting event aims to celebrate National Women and Girls in Sport month and is open to the public.

The event offers a unique opportunity to showcase Park University's athletics programs and network with professionals in the field. Attendees are encouraged to bring cash and/or credit cards to support Park University's athletic programs through raffle and prize drawings.

Three inspiring women will be featured at the event. Brittanie Propes, a 2013 Park graduate and former spirit squad member, is the director of websites and recreation for the City of Parkville. Propes will share her joy of the University's competitive cheer program, which returned in 2024.

Lindsey Derry, a 2015 Park graduate, is the head coach of the Pirates softball program and the senior woman leader for the University's athletics department. Derry will talk about her transition from student-athlete to coach and using sports to serve others.

Nathalia Harth, a graduate assistant in Park's sports communications office and a current MBA student, serves as a current student and athletics team member. Harth will offer her unique perspective as a current student and athletics team member.
