Jeremias Unveils Third Album, "Trust," Bringing Modern Indie Music to the Forefront

Hannover-based indie band Jeremias has rapidly ascended to the top echelons of German pop music, selling out shows and collaborating with notable artists such as Herbert Grönemeyer. The group's poetic lyrics and contemporary sound reflect the spirit of Generation Z, addressing themes of departure, longing, zest for life, and heartache in their music.

Set for release on May 30, their third album, "Trust," follows the success of their 2023 album, "Von Wind und Anonymität." The new record boasts twelve tracks marked by Jeremias Heimbach's unique, heartfelt yet understated singing style. Six of the twelve new songs have already been released as singles, with the ballad "Meer"showing strong potential for becoming a classic.

The video for "Meer" has garnered over 1.8 million views on YouTube by the end of May. Produced by Tim Tautorat, who has previously worked with AnnenMayKantereit and Provinz, the new album features a mix of groovy songs, melodic electronic pop, and chanson-like ballads.

Love is a prevalent theme in Jeremias' music. In "Meer," the band explores the transience or impossibility of love, singing, "Do you turn around when you leave?" Their songs often capture a romantic essence, such as in "Fallen," which celebrates the beauty of nature and the longing for a "small house in the woods" with friends.

In November 2024, allegations of power abuse emerged involving one of Jeremias' artistic employees. In response, the band decided not to give interviews for the new album and issued a written statement addressing the issue. Since then, they have been advocating for awareness teams and safe spaces at their concerts.

Jeremias grew up in a musical family, with singer and pianist Jeremias Heimbach taking inspiration from various artists, including Australian band Parcels. The quartet, consisting of Heimbach, guitarist Oliver Sparkuhle, bassist Ben Hoffmann, and drummer Jonas Hermann, continues to draw inspiration from numerous bands to create their unique sound.

"Trust" is a must-listen for long-time fans, but the band's music appeals to more than just the under-30 demographic. Its poignant lyrics and attractive melodies might also catch the ears of older admirers of romantic music.

Although Jeremias has not yet adopted a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation, the band's third album, "Trust," offers a refreshing sound that transcends pop-culture boundaries. In contrast to the allegations of power abuse in their personal lives, Jeremias' third album delves into themes of love and longing, much like the Australian band Parcels, who've inspired Heimbach's unique sound.
