Thick fog and relentless rain paralyze regions for days ahead

A dense fog has been lingering over the eastern and northern districts of the region since the start of the week, causing traffic chaos and disrupting daily life. The fog is expected to persist over the weekend, bringing occasional drizzle and posing challenges for drivers.

The fog has already led to 14 traffic collisions on November 12, with 19 people injured. Authorities are taking precautions, deploying police patrols at high-risk sections of federal highways. Drivers are urged to exercise caution due to shifting temperatures and reduced visibility.

The heavy rainfall has been relentless, with the region receiving over 160% of its monthly precipitation norm. Inna Kolesnichenko, a deputy director at the Krasnodar Regional Hydrometeorological Center, expects temperatures to stay within the current range. A cyclonic system moving in from Turkey will extend the rainy—but mild—weather across Kuban for the upcoming workweek, despite the unseasonably warm and calm weather the region has been experiencing.

The persistent fog and heavy rainfall are expected to continue, posing challenges for drivers and residents alike. Authorities are taking steps to ensure safety, but drivers are advised to remain vigilant and cautious on the roads.
