These additives, designed to enhance the mixture's moisture resistance and adhesion properties, allow for successful asphalt placement even in damp conditions. By modifying the asphalt binder and mix design, they retain critical performance attributes like adhesion, durability, and resistance to moisture damage.

Mayor Sergey Shestak announced the reconstruction project on his Telegram channel, assuring the citizens of Omsk that the work is being closely supervised by engineering and technical specialists. The quality assessment of the asphalt material will determine if it meets the required standards, ensuring a long-lasting pavement that withstands environmental and traffic stresses.

The asphalt concrete mixture used for Architect's Boulevard contains special additives that have been specifically chosen to provide these benefits. These additives, such as styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) and polypropylene (PP), improve the resistance of the asphalt binder to moisture-induced damage, leading to better adhesion between the asphalt binder and aggregate.

Moreover, these additives enhance the high-temperature performance of the asphalt by increasing its durability against deformation and wear, which can be exacerbated by rain and wet traffic loading. In addition, they help maintain coating effectiveness on aggregate particles even in slightly damp conditions, ensuring proper coating of aggregates during wet conditions.

Due to the higher temperature of the asphalt mixture, steam can form upon direct contact with the surface, even in dry weather. However, this does not affect the quality of the asphalt or the progress of the work.

Upon completion of asphalt laying, control measurements and quality assessment of the material will be carried out in the laboratory to ensure the highest standards have been met.
