TheUpcoming Finals of LAC Veltins Hochsauerland 2025 to be held in Dresden with participants Klei and Ollesch
In the upcoming 125th German Athletics Championships, scheduled for the 2nd and 3rd of August in Dresden as part of the major event "The Finals 2025", several promising athletes are set to make their mark.
One such team is the women's U18 3x800m relay team from TV Schmallenberg, who have their sights set on the future. The team, consisting of Greta Schmidt, Carolin Röhrig, and Lya Bourgund, recently qualified for the event on June 28th at the Kreisstaffelmeisterschaften of the Ahaus-Coesfeld district. They are listed on the participant list with a time of 7:22.75, placing them 13th.
The team narrowly missed the norm with a time of 7:30.39 at the first relay race of the season on May 29th. However, they are optimistic about their performance in the championships.
Another athlete to watch is Max Fischer from TV Schmallenberg. Despite being ineligible for active participation in the German Championships due to the high performance level and limited number of starters, Fischer has been making waves in the athletics world. He set a new Personal Best (PB) of 21.70 seconds in the 200m on July 20th, and previously achieved a PB of 10.69 seconds in the 100m on June 28th. Fischer also boasts two B norms in men's sprint events.
In the men's 400m, Niklas Klei (TuS Oeventrop) and Oliver Ollesch (TSV RW Wenholthausen) will compete. Klei set his season's best time (46.78s) at an international meeting in Kortrijk/Belgium on July 12th, while Ollesch improved his nearly six-year-old PB by 0.6s to 51.41s in Atlanta/GA on April 19th. Ollesch will also compete in the 400m hurdles.
The LAC Veltins Hochsauerland will be represented by three female and two male athletes in the event. However, Mona Vielhaber from TuS Calle-Wallen is not eligible to start in the German relay championships for U20 due to her age.
The Finals is a sporting event where German championships will be awarded in 20 sports in 2025. The schedule for the 3x800m U20 relay at the championships is yet to be announced.
In a remarkable feat, the women's U20 3x800m relay team from TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen secured the bronze medal at the 2025 German Athletics Championships with a time of 6:54.16 min. Greta Schmidt, Carolin Röhrig, and Lya Bourgund are closely associated with this event, likely representing TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen given their Instagram post celebrating the medal and the athletes[1]. Further detailed scheduling information for their race at the event is not currently available from the retrieved sources.
The German multi-event championships 2025 will take place on Thursday and Friday at the Heinz-Steyer-Stadion. The men's 400m semi-finals will start on Saturday, August 2nd, at 14:15.
