German television is seeing a wave of high-profile comebacks in 2026. After two decades away, talk show legend Arabella Kiesbauer will return to host a major programme. Meanwhile, other familiar faces have also made their way back to screens after career breaks or personal challenges.

Arabella Kiesbauer, once a household name in German TV, will take the helm of RTLzwei’s Battle of the Reality Stars in its first All-Stars season. Her return marks 20 years since she last hosted a major show. The series, which has featured rising stars like Pinar Sevim, continues to draw attention—Sevim herself only re-entered television in 2025 after a decade working in a bakery.

Pierre M. Krause also made a notable comeback in 2025 following a year-long absence due to cancer treatment. His travel series, *Short Trip with Pierre M. Krause*, resumed on SWR from January 9, 2026. Before his illness, he had already filmed a guest role in *Tatort*’s November 2025 episode *Überlebe wenigstens bis morgen*, with another appearance confirmed in a later Stuttgart-based instalment. Elsewhere, Verona Pooth expanded her TV presence in 2025. She hosted the debut season of Sat.1’s *Temptation Villa* and later joined the judging panel on ProSieben’s *The Masked Singer*.

The return of these well-known personalities brings fresh energy to German entertainment. Kiesbauer’s hosting role, Krause’s renewed projects, and Pooth’s expanded appearances all signal a dynamic year ahead. Audiences will see both veteran talent and newer faces shaping the TV landscape.
