The8 to headline Nanjing's Midou Music Festival in May 2025

The 15th Midou Music Festival will take place in Nanjing, China, on May 1-2. This year's event will feature a headline performance by The8, a member of the popular K-pop group Seventeen. Known for his solo work, he will close out the two-day festival with a set of his Chinese-language digital singles.

The8, whose real name is Xu Minghao, has been releasing solo music since 2021. His tracks, including Stardust and Star Crossing Night, will be part of his performance. Last September, he also headlined the Yue Jian Chao Xiang music festival in Beijing.

The Midou Music Festival has grown steadily in popularity. In 2023, the June edition drew around 120,000 attendees, while the October event attracted 180,000. Combined, the 2024 festivals brought in over 140,000 spectators, slightly fewer than the 150,000 recorded at the 14th edition. This year's lineup marks another milestone for the festival, which continues to feature high-profile acts. The8's appearance as a solo artist adds to the event's reputation for showcasing both established and rising stars.

The8's performance will wrap up the 15th Midou Music Festival. His inclusion reflects the event's ongoing appeal to large audiences in Nanjing. Organisers expect strong attendance, building on the festival's history of drawing tens of thousands of music fans.
