Unveiling New Heights in Thrill-Seeking Adventures: Bollywood Parks Dubai's Sky Flyer

Dubai's skyline just got a whole lot more exciting! Bollywood Parks Dubai, one of the three theme parks under Dubai Parks and Resorts, has reopened its gates after a well-deserved break due to the pandemic. And the buzz is all about the world's newest and tallest swing, which is now the talk of the town – and the world!

Enter the Sky Flyer, standing at an impressive 460 feet tall. That's as high as the Great Pyramid of Giza, and just 10 feet taller than the previous record-holder, Orlando Starflyer. The announcement of this gigantic swing landed Bollywood Parks Dubai in the headlines, shoving the Orlando Starflyer off the top spot.

Milton D'Souza, the General Manager of the Bollywood Skyflyer, shared insights on the staggering creation. Built from 421 tons of steel and taking a whopping 600 days to construct, the installation phase alone took an additional 120 days to complete.

The New Kids on the Block

As if one record-breaking ride wasn't enough, Bollywood Parks Dubai unveiled eight more attractions, totaling a mind-blowing nine new additions to the park. Visitors can now enjoy a 55-meter-tall Ferris wheel, an Mumbai taxi-style roller coaster, and a free-fall Rocket Fallturm that's set to "breathe life into the vibrant culture of India."

Bollywood Skyflyer and Its Colossal Impact

During the park's forced shutdown due to the pandemic, Milton D'Souza and his team seized the opportunity to revamp and expand the park. They introduced a new section named Mela Zone, which now houses the majority of the park's new attractions, including the record-breaking Bollywood Skyflyer.

With over 2.6 million visitors in 2019, Dubai Parks and Resorts are optimistic that the "renovation" will attract even more tourists, as Dubai continues to establish itself as a popular travel destination.

Breaking Records in 2021

D'Souza hinted at even more records to be broken this year. Bollywood Parks Dubai is planning to launch the Bombay Express, the region's first and only wooden roller coaster. The park also anticipates taking the title for the world's tallest Ferris wheel, with the upcoming opening of Ain Dubai, standing at an imposing 688 feet, surpassing the 550ft High Roller in Las Vegas.
