The Who announce tour dates for their North American goodbye performances

Rockin' it out one last time: British legends The Who announce their North America farewell tour this summer!

The iconic duo, frontman Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townshend, revealed they'll be taking the stage for "The Song Is Over North America Farewell Tour" – named after their 1971 hit single. This monumental tour, spanning 16 dates across America and Canada, promises a triumphant celebration of their six-decade career.

The tour kicks off at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida on August 16, with subsequent stops in cities like New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, and Vancouver. The epic journey concludes in Las Vegas on September 28.

Daltrey, 81, and Townshend, two years his junior, shared their excitement for returning to the land where their rock 'n' roll dreams took flight. "Every musician's dream in the early '60s was to make it big in the U.S. charts," Daltrey declared. "For The Who, that dream came true in 1967, and our lives were changed forever."

From clubs to headlining Woodstock, The Who became a box-office sensation, solidifying their place in rock history. Inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame in 1990, The Who continues to captivate audiences with their powerful music and electrifying energy.

Reflecting on their bandmates no longer with us, Townshend said, "Today, Roger and I still carry the banner for the late Keith Moon and John Entwistle, and, of course, all of our long-time Who fans."

A true artistic partnership, Daltrey provided the perfect vessel for Townshend's many and complicated moods, channeling the defiance and rage, vulnerability and desperation that defined their iconic sound. Hits like "My Generation," "Baba O'Reilly," and "Won't Get Fooled Again," as well as groundbreaking albums such as "Tommy" and "Quadrophenia," continue to captivate generations of fans.

Pre-sales for the unmissable tour will begin on May 13, with general sales starting May 16. This marks the band's final goodbye to North American audiences, as Daltrey revealed that no plans for a UK farewell tour have been made as of now.

Speaking about the upcoming tour, Townshend shared, "For me, playing to American audiences and those in Canada has always been incredible."
