The Vikings embark on a journey of performances

In a spectacular display of swimming prowess, TSV Malente's master swimmer, Thomas Hämmer, has claimed first place in both the 50-meter backstroke and the 50-meter breaststroke at the recent Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein Master Championships.

Hämmer's victories are a testament to his dedication and skill, as he outperformed a field of seasoned swimmers from 27 different clubs, which included 407 young competitors. His triumphs in the two events were particularly impressive, as he set new personal best times in both races.

Another standout performance came from Nick Borchardt, who also secured a personal best in the 50-meter backstroke with a time of 38.85 seconds. Enno Kühnel also impressed, achieving a personal best of 42.75 seconds in the same event.

Jonte Schwarten and Melissa Mohr also had commendable performances, with Schwarten finishing 8th in the 50-meter breaststroke with a personal best time of 45.66 seconds, and Mohr securing 17th place in the 50-meter backstroke with a personal best time of 46.18 seconds. Tilda Schwarten also achieved 7th place in the 50-meter backstroke with a time of 43.73 seconds.

The TSV Malente swimming club, which participated in the competition, demonstrated their strength on the 50-meter pool. The team's performance in the Viking Cup swimming competition, held at the university hall in Kiel on Midsummer Saturday, further highlights their competitive spirit and dedication.

The success of the TSV Malente swimming club has not gone unnoticed, as they are currently seeking coaches to join their team. No prior competitive achievements or swimming experience are required to apply for these roles. Interested individuals can email the club at [email protected] or contact the TSV Malente business office at Marktstraße 13, or by telephone at 04523-2611.

The TSV Malente swimming club encourages community involvement and welcomes new members. As potential coaches soon find themselves poolside, they will have the opportunity to contribute to the club's continued success and help nurture the talents of the next generation of swimmers.

The impressive victories of Thomas Hämmer in the 50-meter backstroke and the 50-meter breaststroke at the Master Championships showcase his dedication towards sports. The TSV Malente swimming club, who also seek new coaches, has displayed a competitive spirit and skill in both swimming events and team competitions like the Viking Cup.
