"The Vessel of Manitu" - A Cinematic Entertainer for the Spectators' Delight
In the heart of Munich, the Western parody "The Canoe of Manitu" made its world premiere, marking the return of beloved characters from the successful comedy "The Boot of Manitu" (2001). Directed by Michael "Bully" Herbig, the film follows Abahachi, the chief of the Apache, and his white blood brother Ranger, who tirelessly fight for peace and justice.
Abahachi and Ranger find themselves in trouble with the one-eyed sheriff, Friedrich Mücke, and his lovesick deputy, Rick Kavanian, who accuse them of murder. However, they are rescued at the last moment by their loyal friend Dimitri, a Greek tavern owner, and his assistant Mary.
The story unfolds as the heroes embark on their greatest adventure, undergoing deadly trials and facing various challenges while uncovering surprising answers to life’s important questions. The plot is filled with comedic slapstick elements, returning characters such as Abahachi’s gay twin brother Winnetouch, and a surprising comeback from the villain Santa Maria, played by Sky du Mont.
The film features an impressive cast, including Jessica Schwarz, Friedrich Mücke, Jasmin Schwiers, and comedian Tutty Tran. Stefan Raab and Michael "Bully" Herbig contribute songs to the film, and the story includes dance numbers, songs, and film quotes.
The sequel sees Winnetouch running a dance and fencing school, and Dimitri's Greek tavern has expanded. American actor Alan Tafoya provides an emotional moment at the end of the film, and Tafoya's performance brings the world of the Apaches closer to the audience.
After the premiere, Sky du Mont was emotional, and director Michael "Bully" Herbig shed tears. Approximately 3,000 guests attended the premiere, and "The Canoe of Manitu" will be in cinemas on Thursday. The film pays homage to Westerns based on Karl May's novels, "Indiana Jones," and Louis de Funès' works, promising a thrilling and entertaining experience for audiences.
