The United States' top diplomat advocates for the United Nations to discard "harmful ideologies."

The United States delegation, led by President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Antony Blinken, is set to join the General Debate of the UN General Assembly during the High-Level Week, scheduled for Tuesday, September 23.

Among the delegation, Senator Marco Rubio will also be present. Rubio's participation in the delegation has been announced, and he is expected to have bilateral meetings with international counterparts during the event. The meetings will focus on shared security interests, conflict resolution, and mutual cooperation.

U.S. State Department Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott stated that Senator Rubio's focus during High-Level Week will be to discuss the need for the UN to return to its roots.

The conflict in the Middle East is expected to be a significant topic during the speeches, with several countries announcing their intention to recognize the Palestinian state. The opening session of High-Level Week at the UN General Assembly is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23, and President Trump will also speak at the same event.

The UN commission of experts has described Israel's offensive in Gaza as "genocide." Some speeches may condemn Israel's offensive in Gaza, adding to the potential heated discussions on the Middle East conflict.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken will speak at the opening of the UN General Assembly's High-Level Week. His speech is expected to address the aim to reorient the organization as an effective tool for promoting peace.
