The third season of Daredevil: Born Again has been officially confirmed
In an exciting development for Marvel fans, the highly-anticipated second season of Daredevil: Born Again has been officially greenlit. According to a confirmation from Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, filming for the next season is set to begin next year.
Winderbaum, who stated that the Daredevil series is extremely rich and has many stories to be told, confirmed the return of multiple characters in the upcoming season. Among them is Vincent D'Onofrio, who will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin. D'Onofrio's return was previously downplayed by the actor himself, but the official confirmation from Marvel puts any doubts to rest.
Another exciting return is that of Mike Colter's Luke Cage. Colter's appearance in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 potentially confirms his return after his character's apparent departure from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A Daredevil panel at New York Comic Con next month could potentially confirm Luke Cage's return, adding to the suspense.
The second season is expected to have multiple stories, with Jessica Jones playing a prominent role in Matt's struggles against Wilson Fisk. Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones and Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page) will also appear in the season. The potential for a vigilante war is suggested in the return of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
Marvel Television sees the revived Daredevil show as the crown of its revitalized approach to making TV shows. This revitalized approach involves making series that exist for multiple seasons, rather than being a feature chopped up into a miniseries. The plan is for Season 2 of Born Again to be released next year, followed by Season 3.
The Daredevil series continues to be seen as rich with many stories to be told. In February, Winderbaum told ScreenRant that there are many stories to be told on the streets of New York in the Daredevil series. There is also speculation that Iron Fist may appear in a future season of Daredevil.
