Jungle Time Returns: "Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus!" in 2024
Get your popcorn ready, reality TV lovers! RTL's jungle camp extravaganza, "Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus!," is back for its 17th season on January 19, 2024. This news, announced by the broadcaster on Tuesday, marks another year of primetime adventure and chaos in the Aussie jungle.
The first all-encompassing live show will kick off at 8:15 PM, making its debut in prime time for a three-hour stretch. Then, on the following day, Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen will join the fun, reporting live from the jungle for an extended two-hour segment during prime time.
But the jungle camp's global shift doesn't stop there; RTL will also broadcast primetime shows on Sundays, delivering a brief glimpse of the jungle before switching gears to cover the National Football League (NFL) playoffs. The knockout sessions begin on January 13, 2024.
As for the celebrity lineup, RTL has already unveiled two notable faces ready to take the jungle by storm. First, the panache of Heinz Hoenig (72) from TV series like "Der Schattenmann" and "Der König von St. Pauli" will grace the camp. Hoenig, explaining his participation, stated, "I've never done anything like jungle camp before. It's a challenge, I'm keen on it. And that's why I'm going. Period."
Following close on Hoenig's heels is Cora Schumacher (46), the former wife of Formula 1 legend Ralf Schumacher (48). In an anticipatory interview, Schumacher shared her excitement about the journey of self-discovery she has undertaken, hoping to captivate viewers and chart her personal journey as a woman abroad.
Additional big-name rumors swirling around for participation include footballer's son Nico Legat (25), "GZSZ" actor Felix von Jascheroff (41) and Anya Elsner (19), the former "Germany's next Topmodel" contestant.
Remember to keep an eye out for the latest jungle gossip, as the 17th season promises to be a wild ride!

While only two celebrities have been officially confirmed, the reality show has a long-standing history of drawing in prominent figures from various fields. For example, in the German version of "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" in 2012, actress Brigitte Nielsen was a popular participant and ultimately named the winner.[1][3] Stay tuned for more celebrity announcements as the big kickoff nears!
