Arqana's V2 Yearling Sale Sees Successful Outing

Arqana's speed-focused V2 Yearling Sale has concluded with impressive results, as 136 out of 158 horses were sold, marking an 86% clip. This is an improvement from the 79% delivered by the 2024 sale, with a total turnover of €3,814,500. The average price stood at €28,048, while the median price was €25,000.

One of the top-selling lots was a colt sired by Dubawi, named Space Blues, who fetched €110,000. This colt, lot 417, will be trained by Roger Marley's Church Farm Stables. The dam of Space Blues, Wootton Valley, is a half-sister to Expressify, a Listed winner by Siyouni.

Another notable sale was a filly from Haras de Colleville, purchased by Dr Khaled Salami for €80,000. This filly is a full-sister to Listed winners Surrey Mist and Kendly. She will be trained by Hedi Ghabri. The filly is from the immediate family of Martin Schwartz's classy Alterite and hails from a lineage that also includes the mighty Cassandra Go and her starry Coolmore-bred descendants, Halfway To Heaven, Rhododendron, and Auguste Rodin.

The Galiway-Kendargent union has proven to be a successful one, producing top-class horses like Sealiway, Sunway, and Gala Marceau. The filly from Charles Briere's Fairway consignment, also secured by Dr Khaled Salami for €100,000, is a sister to the Listed placed Indispensable, further testament to this successful union.

A filly from Haras du Hoguenet, daughter of Blackbeard, was also purchased by Dr Khaled Salami for €95,000. This filly is out of the winning Penny's Picnic mare Spring Street, herself a half-sister to a Listed winner in Les Vertus.

The colt, lot 417, sired by Starspangledbanner, is a third foal out of the winning Siyouni mare Persia and was secured for €90,000. The dam of this colt, Kindly Dismiss, is from the same family as the winning Siyouni mare Persia, who has a sister (Volta) that won the Prix Sandringham and Diane runner-up.

Space Blues, the sire of lot 417, is a Group 1-producing sire due to Power Blue's victory in the Phoenix Stakes. During his racing career, Space Blues won one of his three top-level victories in the Prix Maurice de Gheest.

Unfortunately, the search results do not provide information about the buyer or price of the filly offered by Haras de l'Hotellerie that is the daughter of the mare Wootton Valley.

In conclusion, Arqana's V2 Yearling Sale has once again proven to be a successful event, with many promising young horses finding new homes. The sale saw a strong turnout and impressive prices, boding well for the future of racing.
