The Simpsons Return to Cinemas in 2027 with Sequel

The Simpsons are returning to the big screen after a 20-year hiatus. The iconic animated family will star in a sequel, set to release on July 23, 2027. An accompanying image teases the film with a yellow hand reaching for a donut, forming the number 2, and the caption 'Homer is back for seconds'.

The new film replaces a previously planned Marvel movie, which has been scrapped. While the director has not been officially confirmed, David Silverman, who directed the original 'Simpsons Movie', is rumoured to be in consideration. This will be the second cinematic outing for the family, following the 2007 release of 'The Simpsons Movie'. Plot details for the upcoming film are yet to be revealed.

Fans can mark their calendars for July 23, 2027, as that's when The Simpsons will return to cinemas. The new film promises to continue the beloved family's adventures, with more details to come in the future.
