The animated film The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse has made history as the first all-original streaming service to win an Academy Award. Produced by Apple Original Films, the film was honoured with the Best Animated Short Film award at the 95th Annual Academy Awards.

Based on the beloved book by Charlie Mackesy, the film tells a poignant tale of love and hope, featuring an original score by composer Isobel Waller-Bridge, performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra and conducted by Geoff Alexander. The film stars Tom Hollander as The Mole, Idris Elba as The Fox, Gabriel Byrne as The Horse, and newcomer Jude Coward Nicoll as The Boy.

The film has been praised for its deep and stunning work of art, translating the exquisite illustrations into hand-drawn animation. It has also been hailed as a poignant tale of love and hope, reinforcing the strength that can be found in our common humanity.
