The Comprehensive Sports Program at Eastern Economic Forum 2025

The Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) 2025 in Vladivostok is set to captivate audiences with a diverse and exciting sports program from September 3-6. The EEF Sports Games, organised by the Roscongress Foundation, will bring together international competitions, local activities, and a variety of sports disciplines.

The sports program has been developed in collaboration with the Russian Ministry of Sports, national federations, and the Russian Paralympic Committee. Here are some of the key events to look forward to:

  • International Events: The Vladivostok International Regatta and Pacific Curling Cup will see athletes from over ten countries, including China, Cuba, Iran, and Mongolia, compete. The International Mas-Wrestling Tournament, held on Russkiy Island from September 3-7, is another exciting event on the agenda.
  • Local Participation: The Ready for Labour and Defence Games Open Far East Cup will involve 11 schoolchildren teams and 11 adult teams from the Far Eastern Federal District. This competition will feature categories for amateurs, professionals, and masters, with events taking place over six days at the Sports Arena and ‘Far East Street’ exhibition.
  • Public Demonstrations: The sports program will also include an indoor rowing 2,000-metre race along the Yubileynaya Embankment, a Grand Prix at Ajax Bay Embankment, and a hydroflight show with extreme flying, acrobatics, and spectacular night effects at the Tsesarevich Embankment.
  • Military-Patriotic Education: Two sites of the WARRIOR Center will be part of the event, focusing on military sports training and patriotic youth education. Participants can learn about the center’s programs and engage in related sports activities.
  • Regional Programs: Local sports and cultural presentations will be showcased at the Far East Street exhibition, providing a glimpse into the region's rich culture and traditions.

In addition to these events, the EEF will host the nationwide 'Heroes of Our Time' Cup for sled hockey, with six top teams from the 'Fatherland Defenders' Cup competing. Nadia Petrova, a former world No. 3, will meet young tennis players from the Far East at the EEF, and a "Cup of Hope" children's tennis tournament, named after Nadia Petrova, will also take place.

Participants can also compete in chess, table tennis, and tennis tournaments on the first day of the EEF's business program. The Pacific Cup curling tournament will be held in the new Ice Dome, and discussions on the development of sports infrastructure and increasing accessibility to sports in the region will take place at the Ministry of Sports pavilion.

The sports events at EEF 2025 aim to test endurance, foster teamwork, and build mutual respect. They reflect the multi-dimensional role of sport in the Forum, merging international competitive sports, military-patriotic education, regional youth and adult participation, and spectacular public demonstrations.
