🔺 Crafting the Future: Rising Tide of Apprenticeships in East Saxony's Artisanal Sector
In the vibrant world of Saxon craftsmanship, there's been a striking upsurge in apprenticeships this year, with a notable 6.2% increase in newly completed contracts compared to the previous year. This revelation came from the Dresden Guild of Artisans, accounting for a total of 1,994 new apprenticeships in the Dresden district, compared to the 1,877 from the year prior. This marks the fourth consecutive year of growth in the number of apprentices.
Andreas Brzezinski, heading the Dresden Guild of Artisans, noted, "This surge indicates a robust commitment from businesses towards training, and a growing realization among the youth that the artisanal world presents an enticing landscape for both education and employment, brimming with potential opportunities." Brzezinski emphasized that there's still room for late applicants to join the apprenticeship fray, as some companies continue to hunt for suitable apprentices in the current training year.
Artisanal Industries across Meißen, Bautzen, Görliz, Saxon Switzerland-Osterzgebirge, and the state capital Dresden offer apprenticeships in a diverse range of trades.
Women have also witnessed a surge in apprenticeship opportunities in the Saxon crafting world, contributing to the rise in overall apprenticeship agreements. The spike in female apprenticeships can be observed in multiple artisanal enterprises within the cities aforementioned.
