"The Protection of 'Harmain-ul-Sharifain' is central to our convictions": PTI, JUI-F endorse Pak-Saudi Defense Pact

In a significant move, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have signed a Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement, reinforcing a decades-old security partnership. The announcement was made on Wednesday, and the deal comes at a time when Gulf Arab states are expressing growing concerns about the reliability of the United States as a security guarantor.

The defence allocation for Pakistan has been increased to Rs2.557 trillion, reflecting the enhanced focus on defence ties. The PTI, a political party in Pakistan, supports this defence pact, viewing it as a critical step towards greater Muslim unity and collective security.

The PTI, led by Imran Khan, has always envisioned Pakistan as a country that unites the Muslim world, builds cooperation among nations, and advances the prospects of peace. This defence pact is seen as a step towards realising that vision.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the JUI-F chief, addressed a large public gathering at the conclusion of the Sindh Peace March near the Sindh Assembly on Thursday. He declared that Pakistan stands shoulder to shoulder with its Muslim brothers against zionism and expressed support for the Sumud Flotilla, which is heading towards Gaza to break the siege through peaceful means.

Maulana Rehman also declared diplomatically that Pakistan has always declared Israel an illegitimate occupying force since its creation in 1947. He believes that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have the ability to lead the Muslim Ummah.

The PTI reaffirmed its commitment to Pakistan's strategic partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, valuing the Kingdom's consistent support for the people of Pakistan. The party believes that enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will foster peace, stability, and prosperity.

Notably, Pakistan fields the Islamic world's largest army, and the PTI sees the enhanced partnership with Saudi Arabia as a means to strengthen this position. The PTI also places great importance on the sanctity and protection of Harmain-ul-Sharifain, the two holy mosques in Mecca and Medina.

However, no public information is available about specific PTI government officials or representatives who were informed about or publicly supported the Pakistani-Saudi Arabia Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement.

This defence pact significantly strengthens the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, a move that is likely to have far-reaching implications for the region and the global Muslim community.
